Cliff van Thillo

Cliffs van Thillo’s work manages to restrain free theatrical forms within delicate, achitectural compositions. In his universe chaos and order do not contradict each other; they seem to embrace each other. His figures are as rigid and strong as they are light and airy. This he accomplishes by using a traditional working technique: several layers of handpainted watercolour and acrylic paint, outlined and texturised with pencil, ink and fineliner. His versatile style combined with his ability to approach his subject in a practical and conceptually meaningful way, make him an allround illustrator.
